February 2025 - Chinese New Year

Today we welcomed the new Chinese Consul General, Mr Li Nan and a group of illustrious guests from the Chinese Consulate, Confucius Institute, ETI, the Education Authority, MLA’s and the Mayor and Deputy Mayor to school to celebrate the Chinese New Year.
Our wonderful children mesmerised the guests by performing in Mandarin throughout the morning. The highlights included our P2 children singing ‘Head, shoulders, knees and toes’; our award winning Chinese Bridge winners singing and dancing and our wonderful choir performing in Mandarin. A special mention must go to our Head Boy and Head Girl who presented the morning assembly in Mandarin Chinese!
Following the assembly, all of our children had the opportunity to take part in workshops where they had the opportunity to explore the Chinese culture. They did ink blowing art, handkerchief twirling, shuttlecock kicking and Chinese ribbon dancing.
All in all a magical day at a magical school.
